Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
This policy covers the Print Ready plugin, hosted modeling service, website and public part pages. Use our support form for privacy questions or data requests.
What Print Ready receives
Print Ready receives the specific tool requests ChatGPT sends to it. It cannot read your entire conversation, screen or other chats. Requests can include a part name, OpenSCAD code, a description of the requested part, design decisions, dimensions, material assumptions and model identifiers.
We store submitted parts and their files, including editable SCAD, STL, rendered PNG previews, geometry details, revision links, and generated illustrations explicitly submitted by the assistant. Saved printing preferences can include printer, build volume, nozzle size and material.
Your reference photos
Print Ready does not provide a reference-photo upload feature or ask ChatGPT to send us the original photos you upload to your chat. Our tools instruct the assistant not to upload your reference photos, screenshots or composites containing them. ChatGPT may send measurements, design requirements or descriptions derived from those photos. Those descriptions become part of the stored design.
We do store the rendered model previews our service creates and generated illustrations that the assistant separately submits. ChatGPT handles your original uploads under OpenAI's privacy policy.
Accounts and technical records
AWS Cognito handles account registration, email verification, passwords and recovery. You enter credentials on AWS-hosted sign-in pages. Print Ready does not receive your password or verification codes. The service uses an opaque account identifier and can read your verified email from Cognito to identify the connected account in the interface.
We keep tool request and result records, model status, timestamps, render counts, errors and the service version used. We use pseudonymous account or guest identifiers and hashed host session signals when available to connect related work. These support your model library, usage limits, troubleshooting and usage reporting. They are not a way to read other ChatGPT conversations.
Support requests contain your reply email, selected topic and message. The support form temporarily stores hashed network identifiers, message fingerprints and counters to limit spam and repeated submissions. Raw IP addresses are not stored in those counters. AWS necessarily processes network addresses to serve requests.
Why we use this information
We use this information to create and return parts, save and retrieve your work, apply printing preferences, authenticate accounts, enforce service limits, resolve support requests, investigate failures and understand service usage. Brian can inspect private model files and related records when operating or troubleshooting the service.
We also use retained designs and task notes to troubleshoot problems and improve Print Ready, including its modeling instructions. We do not publish your private designs or use them to train AI models. Publishing a part requires your action through Share.
We do not sell personal data, use advertising trackers, or send designs to an AI training service. This does not change how OpenAI handles your ChatGPT conversation under its own policies and your account settings.
Who receives it
- Amazon Web Services hosts the application, model storage, identity service, operational records and email delivery. Application data is hosted in the United States, in AWS's Oregon region. Global DNS and service billing records are separate AWS services.
- OpenAI receives tool results needed to answer your request, including previews, model details and file links. OpenAI separately operates ChatGPT and processes the content you submit there.
- Google's Gmail service receives support emails. Brian uses that inbox to read and reply to requests.
- People who have a public part link can view and download the files you chose to share.
We may disclose information when legally required, or as necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service or others' rights. We do not give other users access to your private library.
Public sharing
Parts are private by default. Selecting Share in the viewer creates a separate public snapshot with a rotatable model and STL, SCAD, PNG and geometry-details downloads. Anyone with its link can access those files without signing in. The snapshot excludes account details, design-intent notes, chat/session identifiers and captured illustrations. The files themselves may contain names, text or geometry you included.
Stop sharing removes that public snapshot and disables its link. It does not delete your original model or recall copies someone already downloaded. A link is not an access restriction once you give it to someone else.
How long information stays
- Submitted designs, generated files, captured generated illustrations, printing preferences and associated tool records remain until explicitly deleted. They have no automatic deletion deadline. Guest access expires after seven days, but the stored files and records remain until deletion.
- Download links expire after at most ten minutes. This limits access through that link; it does not delete a saved model.
- Operational application logs expire after 14 days. Pseudonymous usage/model history remains until the associated model or account data is erased. Compact deletion records can remain to record that erasure occurred.
- Support form anti-abuse and delivery records expire after 48 hours, subject to AWS's delayed expiry processing. Support emails remain in the support inbox until deleted. You can request their deletion.
- Database recovery copies age out within 35 days. Deleted data may remain in those restricted backups during that period. A recovery requires checking prior deletions before the restored data is used.
Your choices and requests
You can ask the assistant to retrieve your files, change printing preferences or delete an individual model. For account-wide deletion, a copy or correction of personal data, removal of support messages, or questions about privacy rights in your location, use the support form. We verify ownership before disclosing or deleting private data. Guest requests may require the original model link or other proof of access.
Deleting application account data removes associated models, preferences and tool records and invalidates service tokens. The Cognito sign-in identity is separate. Tell support if you also want that identity deleted. Disconnecting Print Ready in ChatGPT does not delete data already stored by Print Ready. We may be unable to associate some rejected or unidentified requests with your account.
Cookies and website tracking
The public product and policy pages do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. AWS-hosted sign-in uses necessary authentication cookies; the private management console uses a session cookie. We do not track activity across unrelated websites. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change these practices because we do not sell data, share it for targeted advertising or use cross-site advertising tracking.
Who operates Print Ready
Brian Hockenmaier, based in California, United States, operates Print Ready and is responsible for the data practices described here. Contact him through the support form.
Children and policy changes
Print Ready is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit children's personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support so we can investigate and remove it.
We post policy changes here with an updated effective date. Before materially expanding the use of previously collected data, we will give notice and obtain consent where required.
